We are excited to announce the QIS schedule!

Welcome breakfast: 9 to 9:30am
Introductions (Jack + Jessa): 9:30 to 9:45am
Discussion groups (all participants/attendees): 9:45 to 10:30am
Panel: Queer Digital Media Resources and Research (Shaw, Fischer, Thakor, Haimson, Rios): 10:30am to 12pm

Lunch: 12 to 1pm

Maker session: Internet of Bodies/Internet of Bawdies (Cowan leading all participants/attendees): 1-2pm
Keynote dialogue (McGlotten / Sender): 2:15 to 3:45pm
Closing collaborative discussion (all participants/attendees): 3:45 to 5pm

About QIS2

QIS2 is the second Queer Internet Studies Symposium, a day long series of conversations, brainstorming sessions, panels, and chats dedicated to broaden thinking about the internet. Co-organized by Jessa Lingel, Jack Gieseking, and the UPenn Alice Paul Center care of Anne Esacove, QIS2 is a space to think about and act on the intersections of technology and media, sexuality and queering, gender and feminism. Rather than a formal conference of people presenting their research, QIS is intended (1) to identify what a queer internet might look like (2) to give a sense of research that’s being done in this area, and (3) to collaborate on artistic, activist and academic projects. The final schedule is still being determined, but we will have a mix of sharing research, making art, and developing an interdisciplinary conversation of what Queer Internet Studies might mean for research, policy, and activist agendas.
